Simone Biles
Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. Biles was the first female gymnast from America in history to have won four gold medals in a single Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to ever win successive World All-Around championships. Biles was raised within Spring Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. Biles and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her daycare instructor Aimee Borman at 6 years old. She stayed at Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles took home a gold medal for floor exercises and also a bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite level of competition in 2011. In less than two years, she had become the top athlete in her field. Biles was notable because of her unstoppable performance enthusiasm and level of challenge she made in each event--vault, uneven bars, balance beam and ground exercises.
