Ricci began her career for her work as a teen child actress for her performances as Wednesday Addams, and Addams Family Values (both 1993) in The Addams Family and as Kat Harvey, in Casper. Ricci made a transition into roles that were more adult-friendly with The Ice Storm (1997) and then a cult appearance of The Opposite of Sex (1998) in which she was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
